Who this applies to
This policy applies to every workspace on Limn and everyone who uses one, including the automations and AI assistants a workspace switches on. It is part of our Terms of Service. A business is responsible for what is sent and done from its workspace, whoever or whatever sends it.
Text messages
Every business that texts through Limn must:
Have consent before texting anyone, and express written consent before sending a marketing text, as the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) requires. Consent to texts is never a condition of buying.
Register its business and each kind of message it sends with the carriers under US A2P 10DLC rules, and send only the kinds of messages it registered. Carriers block or fine traffic that strays from its registration.
Name the business in the first message, say how often messages come, and tell people they can reply STOP to stop and HELP for help.
Respect the hours the law allows for marketing messages in the recipient's time zone, and any state rules that are stricter than federal law.
And may not:
Text numbers that were bought, rented, shared or scraped.
Send content carriers restrict without the controls they require — sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco or cannabis — or anything that is illegal where it is received.
Spread one campaign across several numbers to stay under a carrier's limits, or disguise links to get past a carrier's filters.
Send phishing, debt-collection threats, or messages that pretend to come from someone else.
When someone replies STOP, Limn stops texting that number for that business. Do not re-add a number that opted out, or text it from another number.
Calls and AI voice
Calls made with an automated system, a prerecorded message or an artificial voice — including an AI voice — need the consent the TCPA requires before they reach a mobile phone: written consent when the call is marketing.
Check the National Do Not Call Registry and your own do-not-call list before a marketing call, and call only between 8am and 9pm in the recipient's time zone, or the narrower hours a state sets.
Some states require everyone on a call to agree before it is recorded. If your workspace records calls, tell callers at the start of the call.
Show a caller ID you are entitled to use. Never spoof a number.
Email
Marketing email sent through Limn must follow the CAN-SPAM Act and the law where it is received. That means:
Honest From names, reply addresses and subject lines.
A clear statement that a message is an advertisement, where it is one.
The business's valid postal address in every marketing email.
A working way to unsubscribe. Limn adds an unsubscribe link to campaign email and honors it automatically; do not remove it or work around it.
No bought, rented or scraped lists, and no sending to people who never asked to hear from you.
Recipients in Canada, the UK and the EU are covered by stricter consent laws, and a business emailing them must meet those too.
AI assistants
Tell people they are dealing with an automated assistant where the law requires it, and never present an AI assistant as a named, real person.
Do not use an AI assistant to make a decision that seriously affects someone — credit, housing, employment, insurance or health — without a person reviewing it.
Do not use AI features to create content that is unlawful, deceptive, defamatory, harassing, or that imitates a real person's voice or likeness without their permission.
Read what an assistant drafts before you send it. Its output can be wrong.
Data, scraping and automated access
Do not use Limn's research and prospecting tools to collect personal details for messages people did not ask for, or in breach of another website's terms.
Do not scrape, crawl or copy Limn itself, or reach it by any automated means other than the published API and the integrations we provide.
Do not import personal details you have no right to use, or keep them after the person asked you to delete them.
Do not use Limn to store payment card numbers, government identity numbers, or health records outside the features built to take payments.
Content
Do not use Limn to store, send or publish anything that:
is illegal, or infringes someone else's copyright, trademark or privacy;
sexually exploits or endangers a child, which we report to the authorities;
harasses, threatens or incites violence against anyone;
is malware, a phishing page, or a scam.
Security and the service
Do not try to reach another workspace's data, get around a limit, or break the separation between workspaces. Testing for flaws is welcome on an account you own, under the rules on our security page.
Do not overload, disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.
Do not share a sign-in, or sell or resell access except as your plan allows.
Connected platforms
Posting, messaging or advertising through a connected Facebook, Instagram, Google, LinkedIn, TikTok or Microsoft account must also follow that platform's own rules. A platform can suspend a connection that breaks them, and that is outside our control.
What happens if a rule is broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may ask you to stop, remove the content, pause sending from your workspace, suspend the workspace, or close it, and we may report illegal activity. Where we can, we tell the account owner first and give them a chance to put things right. A carrier or a platform can also act on its own, and we cannot reverse its decision.
Reporting abuse
If you received a message through Limn that you did not ask for, reply STOP to a text or use the unsubscribe link in an email. To report abuse of the service, write to support@launchwithlimn.com with the message and the number or address it came from.
